UltroNiu MRI Patient Positioning System: Enhancing Comfort and Efficiency

2021-12-29

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) systems are predominantly used for medical diagnostics. As a non-invasive imaging technique that does not utilize ionizing radiation, MRI is safe for a wide range of patients, including pregnant women (with specific guidelines). However, it remains contraindicated for individuals with certain implants such as pacemakers, post-orthopedic steel nails, or specific intrauterine devices.

A significant challenge arises during examinations for patients with disabilities, fractures, or severe conditions who cannot independently lie down on the MRI examination table. Medical staff must assist with patient positioning, a task that becomes exceptionally difficult and labor-intensive with severely ill or pained patients. This not only increases the workload for healthcare professionals but also impacts the usability and practicality of the examination process. To address these critical issues, UltroNiu has developed an advanced Positioning Device for Magnetic Resonance Imaging Systems.

UltroNiu Technical Solution

  1. Adaptive Patient Transfer System: The device features an auxiliary bed board with uniformly distributed sliding grooves, each equipped with a transmission rod connected to a first gear rack. A transmission motor is mounted at the lower end of the auxiliary bed board, which connects to the main inspection bed. The inspection bed is supported by legs and incorporates a square transmission block at its base. This block, driven by an external motor, contains a rectangular groove for the vertical sliding of a telescopic transmission block. The square block connects to the auxiliary bed board via this telescopic mechanism, while the other end of the inspection bed interfaces with the MRI equipment.
  2. Magnetic Field Sensing Technology: Employs precise sensors to perceive the strength and direction of the magnetic field, ensuring environmental accuracy crucial for high-quality imaging.
  3. High-Precision Position Tracking: Utilizes advanced tracking technology to precisely control the position and orientation of the imaging area, enabling real-time monitoring and fine adjustments.
  4. Imaging Parameter Control: Integrates technology for the real-time control of key MRI scanning parameters such as speed, resolution, and signal-to-noise ratio, thereby enhancing overall imaging quality and diagnostic accuracy.

UltroNiu Innovative Advantages

  • Adjustable Patient Restraint: The inclusion of clamping blocks, whose lower ends slide via sliders within the grooves, allows for adjustable spacing on the auxiliary bed board. This effectively secures and limits patient movement, ensuring stable positioning.
  • Independent and Adaptive Clamping: Clamping blocks are distributed at both ends of the auxiliary bed board with independent actuation. This design allows for controlled central axis offset limitation tailored to individual patient needs, significantly improving the device's practicality and patient comfort.
  • Assisted Patient Placement: The telescopic transmission block enables the square block to adjust its extension height. This action drives the auxiliary bed board to rotate along its axis, facilitating easier and gentler patient transfer onto the bed. This feature effectively reduces the physical strain on medical staff and improves workflow efficiency.
